The grocery room is twenty-five feet long fifteen feet wide and ten feet high. The vegetable store-room is one hundred and thirty-three feet long, fifteen feet wide and ten feet high. The fan room is twenty-two feet long ten feet wide and twenty-two feet high. The boiler room is twenty-eight feet long, twenty-two feet wide and ten feet high. The engine room is twenty-five feet long, twenty-two feet wide and ten feet high. Four bath rooms are each twenty-two feet square and ten feet high. The work shop is eighty feet long, twenty-two feet wide and twelve feet high. The wash-room is forty feet long twenty-two feet wide and twelve feet high. The dry-room is twenty-two feet square and twelve feet high. The assorting room is twenty-two feet long, fifteen feet wide and twelve feet high. The mangle room is also twenty-two feet long, fifteen feet wide and twelve feet high. Fifteen rooms for servants are each eighteen feet long ten feet wide and twelve feet high.The woodwork of the West building is of cherry, black walnut, chestnut, and maple oiled no paint having been used in finishing any rooms in the asylum. We are also under great obligations to Mr. T.A.Kingsley for his skill, industry and fidelity in superintending the wood-work of the edifice and to all mechanics and laborers who have been employed on the asylum. |
