Dr. William Garvin succeeds Dr. Charles Wagner as Superintendent.

1942
Dr. Hugh Gregory installed as Superintendent following death of Dr. William Garvin. Dr. Gregory institutes Electric Shock Treatment.

1946
Prefrontal Lobotomy first performed at Binghamton State Hospital.

1955
Drug therapy introduced at Binghamton State Hospital.

1965
Dr. Louis Dozoretz appointed as Director of the hospital.

1974
The facility is renamed Binghamton Psychiatric Center.
