Image 5 - Brooklyn Bridge

A large stone bridge is labeled “The Brooklyn Brige 1875”. Trolley cars, horses and carriages are shown crossing the bridge. The upper left corner is labeled “New York Brooklyn” and shows buildings labeled “Post Office”, “New York World Office”, and “Hamer Lef Bancnote Co.” A building at the lower left is labeled “Park office elevator reelway station to Harlem 2 6 6 evenue” (Avenue). A band of musicians is pictured along the river bank, above the text: ”Hutson River lein Kastelgarten ship lanting”, and “Est River ship lein to Boston St”. A ship in front of the bridge is labeled “American Post Stimer to Europe New York haver of New York City.” German and American flags are flying on the ship and a band of musicians is shown on the deck. Note: the American Post Steamer sailed weekly between Hamburg and New York.
