September 24, 1858: A large crowd gathered on a hill east of Binghamton...
A grand ceremony took place to commemorate the Laying of the Cornerstone of the
New York State Inebriate Asylum.

September 24, 2008: On that same hill another ceremony took place...
this time to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the building and celebrate the planned renovation and reuse of Binghamton's "Castle on the Hill."
